Dr. King’s Dream Did Perhaps Come True

That night in April of 1968 a dream for many ended on a balcony and for others, I believe, a dream was forged and tempter to carry on the aspirations of Dr. King; with tomorrow, January 20th, being only one dream that has came true for the many Afro-Americans in our evolving land of dreams and persistent hope.

The video symbolizes the era in which Dr. King’s dream existed and Senator Robert Kennedy’s voice punctuates the atmosphere that violently ended and crushed his dream; while today our country’s problems are similar to the 60’s, our hate towards one another in this great nation has hopefully subsided.

Last November 4th, in Chicago, while President Elect Obama was rendering his gratitude to the public you could almost sense the presence of Dr. King; leaving one to wonder what words he would echo on this auspicious night.

It should be understood today is not the day to celebrate the death of Reverend King, but a day of remembrance for Dr. King and fire he ignited to forge the spirit of both hope and change.
