What’s this a Power Play by Senator Cornyn?

Supposedly this was highly controversial issue with Senator John Cornyn, regarding Senator Clinton’s confirmation as Secretary of State, since she stated earlier that she would not hand over any future documents regarding her husband’s international fund raising activities.  Now all of a sudden there’s been a change of heart by the good Senator from South Carolina.

Take a peek of what’s just been released by Politico on this topic:

Cornyn will vote for Hillary
January 21, 2009

“I intend to vote for Sen. Clinton’s confirmation,” said John Cornyn, who forced today’s debate on her nomination by objecting to a unanimous voice vote yesterday.

UDATE: South Carolina Republican Jim DeMint, speaking on the floor, says he’ll vote no.

That leaves Louisiana Republican David Vitter — the sole FSC member to vote no for her nomination — as the one likely nay during today’s 4:30 vote.
