High Scores For The President

Gallop Polls just came out with there rating on President Obama’s first three days in office and he came out pretty good with a rating of 68%.

I feel the country is really behind his efforts on all fronts; the economy, health care, ending our involvement in Iraqi and Afghanistan, global warming and renewed energy policies.

Although his rating marks look good, they are still not the best when compared to other presidents in recent past.  Take a read of this online newswire by Politico, here’s a few excerpts from that article:

Obama gets his opening grade

Now that he’s in office, Obama’s approval ratings are starting to normalize, as partisan back-and-forth picks up. Just a week ago, Gallup found an astonishing 83 percent approval of how he has handled his transition, showing he had even won over most Republicans.

Gallup’s initial job approval ratings were President John F. Kennedy, 72 percent; Dwight Eisenhower, 68 percent; Jimmy Carter, 66 percent; Richard Nixon, 59 percent; Bill Clinton, 58 percent; George W. Bush, 57 percent; and Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, 51 percent.

Bush hit a low of 25 percent approval late last year, but he rebounded somewhat before leaving office.

I guess the ‘silent majority’ went from right to center-left … and ’til now Obama has been pretty swift tackling the Bush legacy.

Yes, it appears that way, but discounting the 911 disaster for the moment, the Democrats really didn’t have a strong candidate in 2004 (John Kerry) and prior to that in 2000, former Vice President Gore really didn’t campaign ruff enough and plainly was over confident in taking the election.

One really has to ask themselves; “is President Obama rewriting the Bush legacy or the Cheney legacy?”

Hey careful about Cheney … and if asks you to go hunting with him … just don’t … it’s a trick …

Your right and I don’t think he’ll ask, but for my way of thinking he shot “blanks” the eight years he was VP, so his only live round already has been used.

That was darn nasty … after all he’s only ‘semi-human’ … I’ve heard that his mother was an Arabian camel and his father … well, his father was a darn stray dog who nobody has ever heard of again …
